This is your reminder,
Take some time to yourself today, treat yourself to some one on one, quiet time. I know its Thanksgiving and maybe you’ll be surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones (or maybe you won’t, which is OK). But its also Self-care Sunday and I am here to remind you that its OKAY to care for yourself. Do not feel guilty for it, do not feel guilty for leaving your family dinner and spending some time to yourself.
I’m home from university for the last time before I graduate which is pretty crazy. I have a big and busy family, who always wants to see me as much as they can while I am home. Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing my family but I have been struggling to stick up for myself and I know that tonight I need to spend some time taking care of myself. I know that having a self-care night is what my soul needs right now, but I feel this pressure to ignore that in order to spend time with my family. I guess maybe we all just have to remind ourselves we are worth it, it is not selfish to take care of yourself and we do not have to justify this to our families. Take the time to listen to your body, connect with your body, and care for yourself.
